Employment

The Human Resources Office is responsible for recruiting, screening and referring applicants to the various units that provide individual services. The Department of Mental Health complies with the personnel principles of the State Personnel Board so that recruitment, selection and advancement of employees is based upon relative ability. Open consideration is given to qualified applicants for initial appointment.

Your driver’s license, original social security card and high school diploma or GED is needed at the time application is turned in. HUDSPETH REGIONAL CENTER WILL ACCEPT APPLICATIONS until 12 p.m. (CDT), Tuesday, August 10, 2021, for the purpose of hiring a Physical or Occupational Therapist contract worker to provide services at Hudspeth Regional Center. Minimum qualifications: Graduation with a degree from an accredited school of Physical or Occupational Therapy program; a current, unrestricted license to practice physical or occupational therapy in the state of Mississippi; and 3 or more years’ experience in caring for people with severe and profound intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Contract worker will be compensated at a rate of $65.00 per hour and will work up to an average of 20 hours per week. The term of the contract will be one year. A multi-term contract may be awarded based on the evaluation and/or interview. The contract will be canceled if funds are not appropriated or otherwise made available to support the continuation of performance in any fiscal period succeeding the first; however, this does not affect either the State’s rights or the contractor’s rights under any termination clause in the contract. Further, the Procurement Officer must notify the contractor on a timely basis that the funds are or are not available for the continuation of the contract for each succeeding fiscal period.
